Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby
It only took us two weeks to go see it, but it was worth spending time together.
Was it funny? Absolutely.
As funny as Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy? Not by a long-shot. If you loved Anchorman, I must warn you that this isn't as "tight" and sometimes is a little forced.
Do you have to like NASCAR to like this movie? No.
Is there a ton of blatant product-placement? Yes and the produc placement is the real star of this flick, not Will Ferrell.
Still want to go see it? I suggest that you go during the bargain matinee, because the race scenes are fun on the big screen, but you don't have to pay full-price for this one.
Can I take my kids? There's no nudity, but there are a couple of scenes where Will Ferrell runs around in his underwear. If you think your kids will be traumatized by that, leave the little booger-eaters at home.
There are a couple of sloppy make-out scenes, and a lot of gay jokes, a couple of man-on-man liplocks, and more than a few Halliburton references, so if you're trying to shield your kids from all that, I'd leave 'em home for those reasons, too.
