Another Weekend; Another Movie Option
Since it's finally another weekend, and there are a mix of movies that I'm intersted in seeing in the theater, not to mention movies like Barnyard that look like steaming piles of manure (we can start with the fact that male bovines aren't referred to as "cows", progress to the lack of udders on steer or bulls, and end with "and we need this movie, why?"), and then I read that Clo went to see Miami Vice, which updated the classic pre-metrosexual-revolution TV-cop show into . . . something gritty, mean and starring Colin Farrel.
Ouch. No, thanks. I didn't even watch the TV show. . .it was on TV later in the evening and my bedtime was whatever time it was after The Muppet Show.
Dunno about you, but I want to go see the Will Ferrell NASCAR movie:
Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby
This should be good. And I'm gonna see if Matt wants to go see it tomorrow afternoon.

Ah, but I watched all those cheesy 80s shows. ;o) I wanna see it.
One of my office buddies around here saw that Will Ferrell movie, she really liked it.
They let A.O. Scott review it at the Times and he liked it, which means, for once, they got something right. If they'd sent Manohla, it may have looked like a steaming pile.
As I said in my post, Miami Vice was on TV waaaaay past my bedtime.
Bedtime?
Yes, bedtime.
We used to have bedtimes when we was chilluns.
Huh.... I don't recall. ;o)
You was never a chillun.
