On Diane Keaton. . .

Much like Ms. Stevens in this article I read on Slate, I will watch anything with Diane Keaton in it.

If she's part of the flick, I usually enjoy it with many a belly laugh, although I've yet to see Annie Hall. This isn't a big deal, since it's out on DVD and occasionally turns up on TCM or another movie channel, so I can tune in whenever.

But, hearing that she's gone from quirky to needy in her characters is disappointing. Isn't this the same woman who wore a menswear-inspired tuxedo to an awards show? (And took a lot of heat for it, too, since apparently that's WAAAAAY over-the-top for anybody to do. . .um, when you've got Cher spraypainted into Bob Mackie on past Red Carpets, no, it's not.)

I hope that when I grow old, it will be with the grace, dignity and (dare I say it?) aplomb of Ms. Diane Keaton.

The woman has it all, except talent-appropriate roles.
